About Danelle Hancock

Nobody ever reads these things, right? Well, if you want to, here we go.

As a neurodivergent human who felt very lost in the world, art was always the answer for me. I never wanted to be an artist as a kid, not sure exactly why, but it probably had something to do with suppressing who I really was to try and fit in. Regardless, ceramics class found me in high school, and I couldn’t really deny it after that.

Years after high school, my boyfriend, now husband, bought me a wheel for my birthday. I was terrified to tell him I sucked at it, but instead I learned. Then we added my jewelry bench (I also took classes in high school), then the sewing machine, then another, and then the leather sewing machine, soap and candle making supplies…..needless to say, I have a love for many mediums, and over the years my ADHD has allowed me to gain tools for nearly everything I want (yeah, right! There’s always a new medium to try).

When I’m not making art, I’m with my kids. Truthfully, it’s the other way around. I stay home with my 2 kiddos and we’re doing our best to make something of this beautiful property we have. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 goats. We dream of being self-sufficient, with a little extra on top, though that’s a “slow and steady” type goal. In the winter we love to snowboard and as Colorado natives, the snow doesn’t keep us down. In the summer you’ll find us either outside soaking up the sunshine or hiding away in the A/C, really depends on the day.

Regardless of what is keeping me busy, I’m always taking steps in our lives to lead a more simple, honest life, live sustainably, and create cool stuff that people can use in their daily lives that will truly be with them for a lifetime. I hope you like my work.
